Ríobart É. (Robert) Breen, SFO, Ph.D.

Rob holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Public Policy (Environmental Policy) and Administration from Northern Arizona University, and a Bachelor’s degree History and Art from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He also studied religion at the University of San Francisco. Before coming to Siena College, Rob worked in public administration for government and nonprofit agencies, where he focused on community-based environmental education and ecological restoration with urban, rural, and tribal communities on the east coast in the southwest. He is founder and director of the Franciscan Ecology Center, and he serves as Chair of the Ecology Commission and Youth & Young Adult Commission for the Secular Franciscan Order (upstate New York region).
He enjoys hiking, camping, biking, canoeing, snowshoeing, listening to Irish music and playing the Irish tin whistle and Uilleann (Irish) bagpipes, reading Celtic Irish history and Franciscan Studies, writing, and listening to trees grow.
