Barbara Kraemer, O.S.F., is U.S.
Provincial of the School Sisters of St. Francis, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She
serves as the provincial liaison to the areas of sponsorship, social justice,
corporate responsibility, finance and the international congregation, including
the development office. During the 1980s she served for 8 years on the
international team of the congregation as vice president. Since 2005 she has
been instrumental in establishing Casa Alexia in El Paso, Texas, strengthening
the province ministry with immigrants at the border. She is a member of the
Leadership Conference of Women Religious and serves as treasurer and member of
the executive committee of the board of the Midwestern Common Franciscan
Novitiate. Barbara is also the founding Director of the Center for the Study of
Religious Life at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. She taught in the
graduate program in Public Services at De Paul University, served as associate
dean of faculty and professor at St. Augustine College. Barbara holds a
doctorate in Public Policy, master's degrees in Economics and Education, and a
bachelor’s degree in History. She is an experienced presenter, facilitator and
workshop leader for religious communities. |
