What is your connection to the Franciscan Family?
Secular Franciscan – 31 years
JPIC Member at Large – St. Thomas More Region, Secular Franciscan Order
Franciscan Renewal Center (Advocacy Group, Faith In Action Group, Apache Fair Trade) – 3 plus years.

How have you been involved in justice, peace, and care for creation, and for how long?
I became JPIC Member at Large in 2007. This occurred after spending many days before theSan Damiano Cross in Assisi and wondering what God wanted me to do. I had felt for a longtime that my Secular vocation needed something but I was not sure what. Before that cross, I wastold to be radical like Francis and bring the Good News to the poor, but also to invite others toshare in the work.

Why did you join FAN?
I believe that when you speak in the public square today, you need a large voice of many peoplesaying the same thing. FAN accomplishes that when we face our representatives and state. I am amember of FAN, which includes 45 Franciscan institutions and also 15,000 Secular Franciscansacross the United States.

What are you working for in your area?
Immigration, Peacemaking in the Holy Land, Catholic Relief Service Global Poverty Program.
