Following in the Footsteps of St. Francis:

Safeguarding God’s Creation; Advocating for MD Offshore Wind Energy

Wind Turbines in the Atlantic OceanOn the weekend of September 24-25 after each of the Masses, parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Derwood, Md., will have the pportunity to sign a petition in support of Maryland Offshore Wind Energy.

Offshore wind power means cleaner air, less climate pollution, healthier communities, thousands of new jobs, and clean domestic energy for Maryland families.

Given the value of stable energy prices and avoided costs to our health and environment, a relatively small increase in our electric bills for clean, offshore wind is more than worth the investment. We'll save money over the long-term as fossil fuel prices rise and by avoiding pollution that damages our health and God’s creation.
