What is your connection to the Franciscan Family?

How have you been involved in justice, peace, and care for creation, and for how long?
I have been involved in justice and peace issues for many years as a member of Pax Christi.Since entering the Felician Sisters in 1995, I have maintained my ties with Pax Christi in New Jersey. I serve as editor of the NJ newsletter and serve on their Leadership Council. I have been a member of the Felician Sisters Peace and Justice Committee since entering community and currently am a member of the Congregational Office for Justice and Peace. I work full time as the justice and peace coordinator for the Felician Sisters in North America.

Why did you join FAN?
I was privileged to be at the meeting in Baltimore when FAN was initiated. I believe that the FAN community has a powerful voice that needs to be heard. We have a responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ and St. Francis of Assisi to use our collective voice in speaking with and for the most vulnerable in our society.

What are you working for in your area?
Our three major focus areas include:

1. Human dignity including life issues, working to abolish the death penalty in states where our sisters live that still have the death penalty, immigration and human trafficking
2. All environmental issues (which we also consider a human life issue)
3. Issues dealing with women and children
